This is an old man whom people at his village claimed that he lost 14 of his sons. He was very quite and sat for the photo shot we fixed with our workshop guide. I chose monochrome to add more drama to the overall of the image.
This women was standing along side while we were putting our camera gear together and getting ready to take our first steeps in the water of a small Creek at our first visit to this Indonesian village. I just captured her with the 50-140mm lens with natural light.
This young boy was at one of the many villages outside Jakarta. It was just around 7 AM when we arrived at the village after a long drive, just arrived from a late-night flight from West Papua, but couldn’t resist the need to get more photos from my trip.
I was attracted to the hazy far background and the sun throwing its light mixing with the morning dew on the grass.
This boy is the youngest son of the farmer we meet at the village and he was holding this roster, I noticed how he had close contact with the roster and I asked permission to take a picture. So with the help of the Guide to translate, I made the setup put my off-camera flash, got my test shot, and did my camera setting. After few attempts, I was able to come out with this result because it is not easy to keep the child's attention nor to keep him at the exact setup.
